Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/HT/CB/V1

Duration: One Month.

Eligibility: 10+2 Grade (Higher Secondary) or Equivalent is required.

Objective: The Certified Bartender course aims to provide comprehensive training in bartending skills required for work in bars, clubs, restaurants, and event settings. It covers the preparation of classic and contemporary cocktails, knowledge of spirits, beers, and wines, as well as garnishing techniques and responsible alcohol service.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Bartending and Bar Setup: History and evolution of bartending, Roles and responsibilities of a bartender, Types of bars and bar equipment, Bar tools and glassware identification, Setting up and organizing the bar station, Bar hygiene and safety standards.

Module 2: Alcoholic Beverages and Spirits Knowledge: Types of spirits (vodka, rum, gin, tequila, whiskey, brandy), Production and distillation processes, Liqueurs and cordials overview, Wine and beer basics, Alcohol classification and labeling, Responsible alcohol service and ABV awareness.

Module 3: Mixology and Cocktail Preparation: Classic cocktails and modern variations, Mixing methods (shaking, stirring, muddling, layering), Use of bitters, syrups, and garnishes, Creating signature cocktails, Understanding cocktail balance and flavor profiles, Speed and accuracy in drink preparation.

Module 4: Customer Service and Bar Etiquette: Greeting and engaging with guests, Taking and serving drink orders professionally, Handling difficult customers and complaints, Upselling and promoting drinks, Managing bar tabs and cash handling, Ensuring a welcoming bar atmosphere.

Module 5: Non-Alcoholic Beverages and Beverage Pairing: Mocktails and fresh fruit blends, Coffee, tea, and soft drink options, Juice extraction and presentation, Beverage pairing with food, Healthy and wellness-oriented drinks, Trends in alcohol-free mixology.

Module 6: Bar Management and Legal Compliance: Inventory management and stock rotation, Cost control and pricing strategies, Bar opening and closing procedures, Waste management and sustainability practices, Legal age and ID verification laws, Licensing and local alcohol regulations.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
