Objective: The Certified Security & Loss Prevention Officer course is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to ensure safety and minimize risks in hotels, resorts, malls, hospitals, and other establishments. The course covers security protocols, surveillance techniques, emergency response planning, fire safety, theft and fraud prevention, access control, visitor management, and legal compliance.ย

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Hotel Security and Loss Prevention: Role and responsibilities of a Security & Loss Prevention Officer, Importance of security in the hospitality industry, Types of threats in hotel environments (theft, vandalism, terrorism), Understanding guest and staff safety requirements, Coordination with hotel departments and local authorities, Legal and ethical aspects of hotel security.

Module 2: Access Control and Surveillance Systems: Managing entry and exit points for guests, staff, and visitors, Monitoring CCTV and electronic surveillance systems, Key control procedures and secure access areas, Visitor log management and ID verification, Handling suspicious behavior and unauthorized access, Using modern technologies like RFID, biometrics, and alarms.

Module 3: Incident Response and Emergency Procedures: Types of emergencies (fire, medical, natural disaster, bomb threat), Evacuation procedures and route planning, First responder duties and emergency communication, Coordinating with fire, police, and medical services, Incident reporting and investigation protocols, Conducting mock drills and training sessions.

Module 4: Loss Prevention Strategies and Asset Protection: Identifying potential risks and vulnerable areas, Techniques to prevent internal and external theft, Securing cash handling and storage procedures, Monitoring inventory and back-of-house operations, Handling lost and found items professionally, Conducting audits and surveillance reviews.

Module 5: Guest Conflict Management and Safety Enforcement: Handling guest altercations and disputes with diplomacy, De-escalation techniques and verbal intervention skills, Enforcing hotel policies without compromising service, Protecting VIP guests and managing high-profile events, Ensuring safety in hotel bars, pools, and public areas, Recording incidents with discretion and professionalism.

Module 6: Report Writing, Communication, and Professional Conduct: Preparing accurate and timely incident and daily reports, Communicating effectively with supervisors and law enforcement, Maintaining confidentiality and data protection, Professional behavior, appearance, and ethics for security staff, Understanding diversity and cultural sensitivity, Continuous learning and improvement in hotel security practices.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
