Objective: The Certified Waste Management Professional course is designed to provide comprehensive training on the principles, practices, and regulations of solid, liquid, biomedical, hazardous, and e-waste management. The course covers waste classification, segregation, collection, transportation, treatment, recycling, disposal technologies, and circular economy integration. Participants will learn about national and international legal frameworks such as the Solid Waste Management Rules (2016), Hazardous Waste Rules, CPCB guidelines, and Basel Convention. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Fundamentals of Waste Management: Definition and classification of waste (solid, liquid, hazardous, biomedical, e-waste), Sources and characteristics of different waste types, Principles of waste hierarchy (reduce, reuse, recycle), Environmental and public health impacts of poor waste management, Roles and responsibilities of a Waste Management Professional, Overview of global and national waste management goals.

Module 2: Solid Waste Collection, Segregation, and Transportation: Methods of waste collection (manual, mechanized, door-to-door), Waste segregation techniques at source and community level, Storage and transfer stations, Transportation systems and route optimization, Occupational safety in collection and handling, Best practices in urban and rural waste logistics.

Module 3: Waste Treatment and Disposal Technologies: Composting and vermicomposting techniques, Incineration and waste-to-energy technologies, Landfilling design, operation, and post-closure care, Anaerobic digestion and bio-methanation, Treatment of hazardous and industrial waste, Advances in sustainable disposal solutions.

Module 4: Recycling and Resource Recovery: Recyclable materials and value chain, Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs), Informal sector integration and livelihood support, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework, Circular economy and zero-waste strategies, Technologies for automated waste sorting and recycling.

Module 5: Legal, Policy, and Institutional Framework: National and international waste management rules and laws (SWM Rules, Plastic Waste Rules, E-Waste Rules), Role of regulatory bodies (CPCB, SPCBs, ULBs), Waste management in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Public-private partnerships in waste sector, Licensing, permits, and compliance requirements, Reporting, documentation, and audit procedures.

Module 6: Public Engagement, Innovation, and Sustainability in Waste Management: Community awareness and behavior change strategies, School, corporate, and institutional waste initiatives, Digital tools and IoT for smart waste management, Innovations in biodegradable and green alternatives, Sustainability indicators and monitoring systems, Case studies and best practices in integrated waste management.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
