Objective: The Certified Cruise Ship Staff (Hospitality Services) course is designed to prepare professionals for delivering high-quality hospitality services in the cruise ship industry. The course covers passenger service standards, onboard food and beverage operations, cabin and housekeeping management, entertainment support, safety and emergency procedures, and cross-cultural guest interactions.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Cruise Ship Industry & On‑board Hospitality: overview of cruise industry and ship classifications, structure and departments aboard a cruise ship, roles and responsibilities of hospitality staff, passenger demographics and guest profiles, cruise guest lifecycle (pre‑boarding, onboard, post‑cruise), ship‑specific terminology and guest experience standards

Module 2: Guest Reception, Embarkation & Disembarkation Procedures: passenger check‑in/boarding protocols, welcome and orientation procedures (greeting, muster drills, cabin allocation), luggage handling and tagging, guest registration and documentation verification, disembarkation protocols and guest farewell procedures, special‑need guest handling during embarkation/disembarkation

Module 3: Accommodation & Housekeeping Services on Cruise: cabin cleaning and maintenance procedures, bed‑making, linen and laundry management, public‑area cleaning (corridors, decks, lounges), inventory and minibar restocking, handling guest requests for cabin services and in‑cabin amenities

Module 4: Food & Beverage and Guest Dining Services on Cruise: meal plan types (buffet, à la carte, room service, specialty dining), dining service protocols and table management, beverage and bar service (non‑alcoholic, alcoholic if allowed), dietary restrictions and special meal preparation, food safety and hygiene practices, managing high‑volume meal periods and guest seating flow

Module 5: Entertainment, Guest Services & Activities Coordination: onboard guest entertainment and activity scheduling (shows, games, excursions), concierge and guest information desk operations, shore‑excursion coordination and guest briefing, special event planning (theme nights, celebrations), guest inquiries and services (spa booking, activity booking, transport), guest feedback and customization of guest experience

Module 6: Safety, Security, Professionalism & Team Coordination: ship safety and emergency procedures (evacuation drills, muster stations, fire/medical emergencies), guest privacy and data protection protocols, professional appearance and behavior standards for staff, inter‑department communication and coordination, shift‑handover and duty‑roster management, continuous quality assurance and guest satisfaction monitoring

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
