Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Geriatric Caregiver course aims to prepare learners with the knowledge and practical skills needed to care for elderly individuals with compassion, respect, and professionalism. The program focuses on understanding the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social changes associated with aging. Students learn to assist older adults with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, nutrition, medication reminders, and toileting.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Geriatric Care: Overview of geriatric caregiving, Roles and responsibilities of a geriatric caregiver, Ethical and legal considerations, Understanding aging and stereotypes, Cultural competence in elder care, Professional boundaries and communication basics

Module 2: Anatomy, Physiology & Common Geriatric Conditions: Age-related physiological changes, Cognitive changes in aging, Common chronic diseases in older adults, Dementia and Alzheimer’s basics, Pain management principles, Recognizing signs of medical emergencies

Module 3: Personal Care & Daily Living Support: Assistance with bathing, grooming and hygiene, Safe mobility and transfer techniques, Toileting and incontinence care, Nutrition and feeding support, Skin care and pressure sore prevention, Maintaining dignity and independence

Module 4: Home Safety, Infection Control & Medication Support: Creating a safe home environment, Fall prevention strategies, Infection control practices, Use of assistive devices, Medication reminders and compliance monitoring, Emergency preparedness and response

Module 5: Psychosocial Support & Mental Health: Supporting emotional well-being, Managing loneliness and depression, Communication with cognitively impaired elders, Behavioral management strategies, Family involvement and conflict handling, Promoting social engagement and activities

Module 6: Palliative, End-of-Life & Professional Skills: Basics of palliative and comfort care, Recognizing end-of-life needs, Providing compassionate support, Documentation and reporting skills, Stress management for caregivers, Professionalism and continuous learning

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
