Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Foundations of Technical Writing in IT: Introduction to Technical Writing and Its Role in IT, Types of Technical Documents (User Manuals, API Docs, SOPs, etc.), Characteristics of Effective Technical Writing, Understanding the Target Audience and Purpose, Writing Process Overview (Planning to Publishing), Common Challenges in IT Documentation.

Module 2: Writing Style, Structure, and Grammar for IT Content: Clarity, Conciseness, and Consistency in Technical Writing, Use of Active vs. Passive Voice in IT Contexts, Writing Structured Content with Headings and Lists, Standard Grammar and Punctuation Rules, Maintaining Tone and Objectivity in Technical Documents, Editing and Proofreading Techniques.

Module 3: Tools and Technologies for Technical Writers: Word Processors vs. Authoring Tools (MS Word, Google Docs, etc.), Markdown, HTML, and XML Basics for Documentation, Using Content Management Systems (CMS) and Wikis, Introduction to Help Authoring Tools (MadCap Flare, RoboHelp), Version Control with Git and GitHub for Writers, Screenshot, Diagram, and Video Tools for Visual Content.

Module 4: Documenting Software, Systems, and APIs: Writing Software Installation and Configuration Guides, Creating System Architecture and Network Documentation, Documenting RESTful APIs with Examples, Explaining Code Snippets Clearly for Developers, Writing Change Logs and Release Notes, Best Practices for Maintaining Technical Accuracy.

Module 5: Collaboration, Review, and Project Workflow: Working with Developers, Engineers, and QA Teams, Managing Documentation Projects with Agile/Scrum, Peer Reviews and Stakeholder Feedback Integration, Using Track Changes and Comments Effectively, Setting Up Documentation Standards and Style Guides, Building and Following Documentation Schedules.

Module 6: Publishing, Delivery, and Career Development: Formatting and Publishing for Web, PDF, and Print, Writing for International and Multilingual Audiences, Creating User-Centered and Accessible Documentation, Portfolio Development for Technical Writers, Freelancing vs. In-House Roles in IT Writing, Capstone Project: Create and Present a Complete IT Documentation Set.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
