Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Module 2: Market Segmentation and Demand Forecasting: Identifying and analyzing market segments: corporate, leisure, group, OTA, Forecasting demand based on historical, booking pace, and events data, Tools and techniques for short-term and long-term forecasting, Segment-based pricing and inventory allocation strategies, Role of predictive analytics in revenue forecasting, Competitive set analysis and benchmarking tools (STR, OTA Insight).

Module 3: Pricing Strategies and Distribution Channels: Rate fences and price discrimination techniques, BAR (Best Available Rate), dynamic and length-of-stay pricing, Pricing strategies for different seasons, days, and lead times, Managing rate parity across OTAs, GDS, and brand.com, Role of channel managers and CRS in distribution optimization, Evaluating cost of acquisition per distribution channel.

Module 4: Inventory Management and Optimization: Setting room types, allocation limits, and booking controls, Overbooking strategies and displacement analysis, Group vs. transient business optimization, Managing availability and restrictions (MLOS, CTA, blackouts), Role of PMS and RMS (Revenue Management System) in inventory control, Forecasting unconstrained demand and optimizing capacity.

Module 5: Performance Metrics and Financial Analysis: Key performance indicators: RevPAR, ADR, Occupancy, GOPPAR, TRevPAR, Pickup reports, pace reports, and variance analysis, Budgeting, forecasting, and revenue projections, Profitability analysis by segment, channel, and package, Analyzing booking windows, lead time, and cancellation trends, Creating revenue dashboards and executive reporting formats.

Module 6: Strategy, Technology, and Future Trends in Revenue Management: Integrating revenue management with sales, marketing, and digital strategy, Role of automation, AI, and machine learning in pricing optimization, Developing strategic pricing plans and business reviews, Crisis and recovery pricing strategies (post-COVID, economic downturns), Cross-functional collaboration for holistic revenue performance, Emerging trends: total revenue management, attribute-based pricing, and personalization.
