Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Human Nutrition: Introduction to nutrition science and its importance to health, Macronutrients: carbohydrates, proteins, fats – functions and requirements, Micronutrients: vitamins and minerals – roles and sources, Water and electrolyte balance in the human body, Nutrient digestion, absorption, and metabolism, Recommended dietary allowances (RDA) and dietary guidelines.

Module 2: Nutritional Assessment and Planning: Methods of dietary assessment (24-hour recall, food diaries, FFQ), Anthropometric measurements and body composition analysis, Biochemical and clinical indicators of nutritional status, Creating individualized nutrition care plans, Nutrition counseling and goal-setting techniques, Use of food pyramids, plate models, and meal planning tools.

Module 3: Nutrition Through the Life Cycle: Nutritional needs during pregnancy and lactation, Infant and child nutrition fundamentals, Adolescent nutrition and growth considerations, Adult and elderly nutrition management, Gender-specific dietary recommendations, Special considerations for different life stages and activity levels.

Module 4: Diet and Disease Management: Role of nutrition in preventing and managing chronic diseases (diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease), Therapeutic diets and medical nutrition therapy (MNT), Gastrointestinal disorders and dietary modifications, Obesity and weight management strategies, Food allergies, intolerances, and elimination diets, Nutrition for immune health and inflammation reduction.

Module 5: Food Science, Safety, and Public Health Nutrition: Basics of food groups, food labels, and nutrient density, Food fortification, preservation, and functional foods, Principles of food safety and hygiene practices, Food laws, regulations, and labeling standards (FSSAI, Codex), Community nutrition and government nutrition programs, Nutrition education and promotion strategies for public health.

Module 6: Professional Ethics, Research, and Career Development: Scope of practice and code of ethics for nutritionists, Effective client communication and counseling skills, Interdisciplinary collaboration in healthcare, Introduction to nutrition research methods and interpreting scientific literature, Business and career opportunities in nutrition, Certification, licensing, and continuing education pathways.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
