Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Electronic Health Records (EHR) Specialist course is designed to train individuals in managing and maintaining digital patient records using modern EHR systems. The course provides in-depth knowledge of electronic documentation, medical coding and billing basics, appointment scheduling, charting, data entry, patient history management, and workflow integration. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Electronic Health Records: Definition and components of Electronic Health Records (EHR), Evolution from paper-based to electronic records, Benefits and challenges of using EHR systems, Role and responsibilities of an EHR specialist, Difference between EHR, EMR, and PHR systems, Overview of EHR usage in hospitals, clinics, and public health.

Module 2: EHR Software Systems and Functionalities: Common EHR platforms and vendor systems overview, Patient registration and demographic data entry, Clinical documentation: SOAP notes, progress notes, and vitals, E-prescribing and integration with pharmacy systems, Lab and imaging results integration, Scheduling, billing, and insurance features within EHRs.

Module 3: Data Entry, Quality, and Record Maintenance: Best practices for accurate and timely data entry, Standard data fields and dropdowns for efficiency, Ensuring completeness and consistency of records, Correcting and amending errors in health records, Managing duplicate records and data conflicts, Maintaining records for legal, billing, and clinical use.

Module 4: Privacy, Security, and Legal Compliance: HIPAA, GDPR, and national regulations for health data privacy, Access controls and role-based user permissions, Secure login, encryption, and audit trail features, Handling patient consent and confidentiality protocols, Legal aspects of electronic documentation and malpractice, Compliance with accreditation and audit standards.

Module 5: Interoperability and Health Data Standards: Health information exchange (HIE) and data sharing protocols, Introduction to HL7, FHIR, LOINC, and SNOMED CT standards, Coding systems: ICD, CPT, HCPCS, and their use in EHR, Integration with PACS, LIS, and RIS systems, Structured vs unstructured data and use of templates, Enabling continuity of care across multiple providers.

Module 6: Workflow Integration, Troubleshooting and Career Growth: Integrating EHR with clinical and administrative workflows, User training and support for healthcare staff, Identifying and resolving EHR system errors, Reporting features and dashboards for quality metrics, Role of EHR in telehealth and digital transformation, Career opportunities, certifications, and future trends in EHR specialization.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
