Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/AD/CLD/V1

Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Landscape Designer course is structured to provide comprehensive training in the planning, design, and execution of outdoor environments. The course covers key areas such as site analysis, plant selection, environmental sustainability, hardscape design, irrigation systems, and landscape construction techniques. Students will learn to integrate natural and built elements harmoniously while addressing functional, aesthetic, ecological, and cultural factors.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Landscape Design: Principles and elements of landscape design, History and evolution of landscape architecture, Site analysis and surveying, Types of landscapes (residential, commercial, public), Climate and environmental factors, Landscape design process.

Module 2: Plants and Planting Design: Plant classification and identification, Soil types and plant selection, Seasonal and regional planting strategies, Plant composition and arrangement, Maintenance and growth patterns, Sustainable and native planting.

Module 3: Hardscape and Outdoor Structures: Paving materials and patterns, Retaining walls and edging, Pergolas, gazebos, and trellises, Fencing and boundary treatments, Water features and pools, Outdoor furniture and lighting.

Module 4: Landscape Graphics and Visualization: Freehand sketching and rendering, Site plans and planting plans, CAD drafting for landscape design, 3D modeling and visualization tools, Presentation boards and layouts, Color theory and visual communication.

Module 5: Sustainable and Environmental Design: Xeriscaping and drought-tolerant landscapes, Rainwater harvesting and irrigation systems, Ecological restoration and conservation, Green roofs and walls, Low-impact design practices, Environmental regulations and compliance.

Module 6: Professional Practice and Project Management: Client consultation and proposal writing, Cost estimation and budgeting, Project scheduling and coordination, Contracts and legal considerations, Portfolio development and presentation, Career pathways and certifications.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
