Objective: The Certified Storyboard Artist course aims to equip students with comprehensive skills in visual storytelling through storyboarding. It covers fundamental principles such as composition, pacing, and shot selection, enabling students to effectively translate scripts into clear, compelling visual sequences. The course focuses on developing proficiency in drawing techniques, understanding cinematic language, and mastering digital tools used in professional storyboard production.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Storyboarding: History of storyboarding, Importance of storyboards in media, Types of storyboards (film, animation, commercials), Basic principles of visual storytelling, Understanding screenplay and script breakdown, Role of a storyboard artist in production.

Module 2: Drawing and Visualization Techniques: Basic drawing skills and anatomy, Perspective and composition, Gesture drawing and character poses, Thumbnail sketches and rough layouts, Visual storytelling through expression and body language, Use of lighting and shadows in storyboards.

Module 3: Storyboard Tools and Software: Traditional storyboard tools (pencils, markers, paper), Digital storyboard software overview (Storyboard Pro, Photoshop), Using tablets and styluses effectively, Layering and digital file management, Integrating sound and timing in digital boards, Exporting and presenting storyboard sequences.

Module 4: Storytelling and Cinematic Language: Understanding cinematic shots (close-up, wide, medium), Camera angles and movements, Visual pacing and timing, Scene transitions and continuity, Emotional storytelling through visuals, Working with directors and writers to refine storyboards.

Module 5: Production Pipeline and Collaboration: Pre-production workflow and storyboard revisions, Communication with directors, animators, and producers, Incorporating feedback and making adjustments, Storyboard breakdown for animation vs live action, Time management and meeting deadlines, Legal and copyright considerations in storyboarding.

Module 6: Advanced Storyboarding Skills and Portfolio Development: Creating animatics and motion storyboards, Visual effects and special effects storyboarding, Storyboarding for different genres and styles, Building a professional portfolio, Preparing for job interviews and freelance work, Industry trends and continuing education.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
