Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The objective of the Certified Lighting & Rendering Specialist course is to provide comprehensive training in the artistic and technical aspects of lighting and rendering for 3D scenes. The course aims to develop the learner’s ability to simulate realistic lighting scenarios, enhance visual storytelling through mood and composition, and optimize rendering workflows using software such as Autodesk Maya, Blender, or Unreal Engine.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Lighting: Light Properties and Types, Natural vs Artificial Lighting, Lighting Terminology (Lumen, Lux, Color Temp), Understanding Light Behavior, Photometric Concepts, Introduction to Lighting Design Principles.

Module 2: Digital Lighting Techniques: Three-Point Lighting Setup, Key, Fill, and Rim Light Strategies, Directional and Area Lights, Global Illumination Basics, HDRI Lighting Techniques, Matching Real-World Lighting in 3D.

Module 3: Shading and Materials: Material Types and Definitions, PBR (Physically-Based Rendering) Workflow, Reflection and Refraction Theory, Subsurface Scattering (SSS), Texture Mapping and UV Unwrapping, Creating Realistic Shaders in Render Engines.

Module 4: Rendering Engines Overview: Overview of Render Engines (Arnold, V-Ray, Redshift, etc.), CPU vs GPU Rendering, Sampling and Denoising Techniques, Ray Tracing vs Rasterization, Render Settings Optimization, Real-Time vs Offline Rendering.

Module 5: Lighting for Environments and Characters: Interior Lighting Techniques, Exterior Day/Night Lighting, Character Lighting for Animation, Mood and Cinematic Lighting, Lighting for Product Visualization, Volumetric and Atmospheric Effects.

Module 6: Advanced Rendering Techniques and Post-Processing: Render Passes and AOVs, Compositing in Nuke/After Effects, Color Grading and LUTs, Depth of Field and Motion Blur, Render Troubleshooting and Optimization, Portfolio and Showreel Development.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
