Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).
Objective: The Certified Port Operations Manager course is designed to equip participants with the strategic and operational knowledge required to oversee all facets of port activities. The course covers berth and terminal planning, vessel traffic management, cargo handling procedures (containers, bulk, and general cargo), port safety and security protocols (ISPS Code), equipment and workforce management, and environmental compliance (MARPOL).
Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:
Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.
Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.
Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.
Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.
Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.
Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.
Assessment Modules:
Module 1: Introduction to Port Operations and Management: Overview of port types and functions (cargo, container, bulk, passenger), Roles and responsibilities of a Port Operations Manager, Port infrastructure and layout planning, Key stakeholders: terminal operators, shipping lines, customs, and logistics service providers, Port operational flow: vessel arrival to cargo clearance, International maritime regulations impacting port operations (IMO, SOLAS, ISPS).
Module 2: Cargo Handling and Terminal Operations: Cargo types and handling techniques, Container terminal operations and yard management, Use of cranes, forklifts, conveyors, and automated systems, Coordination with stevedores, truckers, and rail operators, Bulk cargo handling and storage systems, Safety protocols and efficiency measures in cargo handling.
Module 3: Port Logistics and Supply Chain Integration: Multimodal transportation linkages and coordination, Warehousing, distribution, and cross-docking operations, Inventory and flow management in port logistics, IT systems and port community systems (PCS), Real-time cargo tracking and visibility tools, Interfacing with inland logistics hubs and free trade zones.
Module 4: Regulatory Compliance and Security Management: Customs clearance and port documentation, Compliance with international and national regulations (MARPOL, IMDG, ISPS Code), Dangerous goods handling and security procedures, Port health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements, Audit and inspection readiness, Emergency and contingency planning.
Module 5: Resource and Personnel Management: Workforce planning and shift management, Labor relations and union coordination, Training and upskilling port staff, Equipment maintenance and asset lifecycle planning, Budgeting and operational cost control, Leadership and communication in port operations.
Module 6: Strategic Development and Port Sustainability: Port development planning and expansion strategies, Smart ports and digitalization initiatives, Green port strategies and environmental management, Performance metrics and continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma), Public-private partnerships and investment planning, Capstone project: develop an operational improvement and sustainability strategy for a mid-sized international port.
GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:
- Duration- 60 minutes.
- Number of Questions- 30.
- Number of Questions from each module: 5.
- Language: English.
- Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
- Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
