Objective: The Certified Machine Safety Specialist course is designed to provide comprehensive training in managing safety risks associated with industrial machinery and automated equipment. The course covers machine risk assessment, hazard identification, safeguarding techniques (guards, interlocks, emergency stops), lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and ergonomic safety measures.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Machine Safety and Standards: Overview of machine safety and its importance in industrial environments, Types of machinery and associated hazards, Key international and national safety standards (ISO 12100, ISO 13849, IEC 62061, OSHA), Roles and responsibilities of a Machine Safety Specialist, Basic principles of machine risk reduction and safe design, Overview of accident statistics and safety improvement goals.

Module 2: Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: Types of mechanical hazards (crushing, shearing, cutting, entanglement), Methods for identifying hazards in machinery, Risk assessment methodology (severity, exposure, probability), Hierarchy of hazard controls and risk reduction strategies, Use of risk assessment tools and checklists, Documentation and periodic review of risk assessments.

Module 3: Machine Guarding and Safety Devices: Types of guards (fixed, interlocked, adjustable, self-adjusting), Safety devices (light curtains, pressure-sensitive mats, emergency stop buttons), Safety interlocks and fail-safe mechanisms, Guarding for specific equipment (presses, conveyors, CNC machines), Design and installation requirements for guards and safety devices, Inspection and maintenance of guarding systems.

Module 4: Electrical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic Safety in Machines: Electrical safety concepts and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, Safe design of control circuits and emergency circuits, Pneumatic and hydraulic system safety principles, Isolation and energy dissipation methods, Preventing unintentional startup and stored energy hazards, Troubleshooting electrical and fluid power systems safely.

Module 5: Safe Operating Procedures and Training: Development and implementation of safe operating procedures (SOPs), Operator roles and responsibilities during machine use, Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in machine operation, Communication of hazards using labels, signs, and color codes, Incident reporting, investigation, and near-miss analysis, Training and competency evaluation for machine operators.

Module 6: Compliance, Auditing, and Continuous Improvement: Machine safety regulatory compliance and audit processes, Conducting internal and external safety inspections, Safety performance indicators and recordkeeping, Integration of machine safety into overall safety management system, Continuous improvement strategies and corrective action plans, Case studies on machine-related incidents and best practices in prevention.
