Duration: One Month.

Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent is required.

Objective: The Certified Offshore Safety Specialist course is designed to provide comprehensive training in managing safety systems specific to offshore environments such as oil rigs, gas platforms, and marine structures. The course covers offshore risk assessment, emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures, permit-to-work systems, confined space and working-at-height safety, marine safety regulations, and control of hazardous substances.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Offshore Industry Overview and Safety Fundamentals: Introduction to offshore oil and gas operations, Offshore safety terminology and regulatory framework, Offshore hazards and risk factors, Safety culture and human factors, Safety case and safety management systems, Offshore emergency types and statistics.

Module 2: Offshore Safety Regulations and Compliance: International offshore safety standards (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL), National regulatory bodies and legal requirements, Offshore safety audits and inspections, Permit to work systems (PTW), Regulatory reporting and documentation, Compliance challenges in offshore operations.

Module 3: Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA): Risk assessment methods and tools, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Hazard identification techniques (HAZID, HAZOP), Risk matrix and control hierarchy, Environmental and process safety risks, Case studies of risk assessment in offshore environments.

Module 4: Offshore Emergency Response and Crisis Management: Emergency preparedness and response plans, Firefighting and evacuation procedures, Helicopter operations and helideck safety, Use of lifesaving appliances and survival suits, Search and rescue (SAR) coordination, Drills, training, and incident command systems.

Module 5: Offshore Equipment Safety and Maintenance: Mechanical and electrical equipment safety, Pressure systems and lifting operations, Confined space and hot work safety, Maintenance procedures and isolation techniques (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in offshore sites, Equipment inspection, testing, and certification.

Module 6: Health, Environment, and Occupational Safety (HSE) Offshore: Occupational health hazards and hygiene in offshore, Environmental protection measures and waste management, Noise, vibration, and ergonomics offshore, Fatigue and mental health management, Incident reporting and accident investigation, Offshore HSE performance indicators and KPIs.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
