Objective: The Certified Nonwoven Textiles Specialist course is designed to provide in-depth technical knowledge and practical skills in the field of nonwoven textiles—engineered fabrics made without weaving or knitting. The primary objective is to enable learners to understand the raw materials, manufacturing processes, bonding techniques, and functional finishes used in nonwoven production, along with their industrial applications.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Nonwoven Textiles: Definition and history of nonwoven textiles, Differences between woven, knitted, and nonwoven fabrics, Classification of nonwovens based on production process, Key properties and advantages of nonwoven materials, Global market trends and applications, Role of a nonwoven textile specialist.

Module 2: Raw Materials and Fiber Selection: Types of fibers used in nonwovens (natural, synthetic, regenerated), Fiber selection criteria for different applications, Fiber properties influencing nonwoven performance, Role of bonding agents and additives, Sustainability in fiber sourcing and recycling, Innovations in biodegradable and eco-friendly fibers.

Module 3: Nonwoven Manufacturing Techniques: Dry-laid, wet-laid, and spun-laid (spunbond, meltblown) processes, Carding, air laying, and hydroentanglement methods, Thermal, chemical, and mechanical bonding techniques, Composite nonwovens and multilayer structures, Process parameters and machinery overview, Process optimization for performance and efficiency.

Module 4: Finishing, Functionalization, and Performance Testing: Surface treatment and functional finishes (hydrophobic, antimicrobial, flame retardant), Coating and lamination techniques, Testing methods for strength, permeability, absorption, and durability, Quality control standards and specifications (ISO, ASTM), Defect analysis and corrective actions, Certification and regulatory compliance.

Module 5: Application Areas of Nonwovens: Medical and hygiene products (surgical masks, diapers, wipes), Geotextiles and filtration materials, Automotive and construction nonwovens, Agricultural and packaging applications, Technical and industrial uses, Case studies on product development and usage.

Module 6: Sustainability, Safety, and Career Development: Waste management and recyclability of nonwovens, Green manufacturing practices and circular economy, Workplace safety and handling of chemicals and machinery, Emerging technologies in nonwovens (nano, bio, smart), Industry collaborations and innovation hubs, Career opportunities and professional growth in the nonwoven sector.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
