Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Module 1: Introduction to Sanskrit and Yoga Terminology
History of Sanskrit language, Importance of Sanskrit in Yoga, Basic Sanskrit phonetics and pronunciation, Introduction to Devanagari script, Common Sanskrit yoga terms and their meanings, Overview of Sanskrit grammar essentials

Module 2: Sanskrit Grammar Fundamentals: Nouns and their genders (masculine, feminine, neuter), Introduction to cases (vibhaktis) in Sanskrit, Pronouns and their usage, Verb roots (dhatu) and present tense conjugation, Simple sentence structure in Sanskrit, Use of sandhi (word joining rules).

Module 3: Sanskrit for Yoga Asanas and Practices: Sanskrit names of common yoga asanas, Breakdown of compound words in asana names, Understanding pranayama terminology in Sanskrit, Chanting mantras: pronunciation and meaning, Translating basic yoga instructions from English to Sanskrit, Using Sanskrit for meditation and visualization practices.

Module 4: Sanskrit Scriptures and Texts for Yoga Educators: Introduction to key Yoga texts in Sanskrit (Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika), Understanding common Sanskrit terms in these texts, Techniques for reading and interpreting Sanskrit verses, Practice translating selected sutras, Study of Sanskrit shlokas related to yoga philosophy, Ethical and cultural considerations in Sanskrit use.

Module 5: Teaching Sanskrit in Yoga Classes: Methods to introduce Sanskrit in yoga classes, Creating simple Sanskrit vocabulary lessons for students, Using Sanskrit to enhance class atmosphere (chants, mantras), Techniques for correct pronunciation and student engagement, Developing Sanskrit handouts and resources, Assessing student progress in Sanskrit understanding.

Module 6: Advanced Sanskrit Application and Certification Preparation: Advanced grammar: past and future tense verbs, Use of Sanskrit in yogic rituals and ceremonies, Sanskrit for Ayurveda basics relevant to yoga educators, Practice composing simple Sanskrit instructions and explanations, Preparing for the certification exam: practice tests and review, Final project: creating a Sanskrit-based teaching module for yoga classes.
