Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Yarn Maker course is designed to provide specialized knowledge and hands-on skills in yarn manufacturing, covering the entire process from fiber selection to yarn spinning, blending, twisting, and quality control. It prepares individuals for technical roles in spinning mills, textile factories, and handloom units by developing proficiency in both traditional and modern yarn-making techniques.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Yarn Making: Overview of Textile Industry and Yarn Production, Importance of Yarn in Fabric Manufacturing, Types of Yarn (Natural, Synthetic, Blended), Basic Terminologies in Yarn Making, Role of a Yarn Maker, Career Opportunities in Yarn Manufacturing.

Module 2: Raw Materials for Yarn Production: Classification of Fibres (Staple and Filament), Properties of Cotton, Wool, Silk, and Synthetic Fibres, Fibre Testing and Quality Parameters, Fibre Preparation Methods, Storage and Handling of Raw Materials, Environmental Impact of Fibres.

Module 3: Spinning Techniques: Introduction to Spinning Processes, Ring Spinning and Open-End Spinning, Rotor, Air-Jet, and Friction Spinning Methods, Steps in Spinning (Carding, Drawing, Roving), Differences in Spinning for Various Fibres, Process Control and Optimization.

Module 4: Yarn Properties and Quality Control: Yarn Count and Twist, Strength, Evenness, and Hairiness, Common Yarn Defects and Their Causes, Yarn Testing Equipment and Techniques, Quality Standards and Specifications, Record Maintenance and Quality Reports.

Module 5: Machinery and Maintenance: Types of Machines Used in Yarn Production, Operation and Safety Measures, Preventive and Breakdown Maintenance, Lubrication and Cleaning Practices, Troubleshooting Common Issues, Calibration of Equipment.

Module 6: Sustainability and Waste Management: Efficient Use of Resources in Yarn Making, Waste Handling and Reuse Practices, Eco-Friendly Yarn Production Techniques, Workplace Safety and Environmental Regulations, Certifications and Compliance Standards, Case Studies on Sustainable Yarn Units.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
