Objectives

Objectives of Establishing GSDCI (Global Skill Development Council of India):

  1. To Standardize Skill Development at a Global Level
    Develop and implement uniform, globally recognized skill standards and certifications that align with international industry needs.
  2. To Promote International Employability of Indian Workforce
    Facilitate training and certification that enables skilled Indian professionals to work in foreign countries, especially in high-demand sectors.
  3. To Bridge the Skill Gap Between Industry and Academia
    Collaborate with industries, educational institutions, and training bodies to align curriculum and practical training with real-time market demands.
  4. To Foster Public–Private Partnerships (PPP)
    Work with government bodies, private companies, and international organizations to promote large-scale skilling, upskilling, and reskilling programs.
  5. To Develop Sector-Specific Skill Councils and Training Modules
    Create specialized verticals (e.g., healthcare, IT, construction, logistics, hospitality) to address specific skill requirements and workforce shortages.
  6. To Encourage Innovation and Digital Learning in Skill Development
    Leverage AI, AR/VR, e-learning platforms, and simulations to make skill training more accessible, interactive, and effective.
  7. To Facilitate Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Lifelong Learning
    Establish systems for recognizing informal learning and work experience, promoting lifelong skill enhancement.
  8. To Boost Entrepreneurship and Self-Employment
    Train individuals not just for jobs, but also for entrepreneurial ventures through skill development in business planning, digital marketing, and innovation.
  9. To Support Skill Mobility Through Global Partnerships
    Partner with international governments, councils, and employers to ensure Indian certifications are recognized globally, easing the mobility of skilled workers.
  10. To Create a Centralized Skill Data Repository and Monitoring System
    Build a national skill database, monitor training outcomes, and measure the effectiveness of skill programs for continuous improvement.
