Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The Certificate in Building Performance Analysis course is designed to develop advanced expertise in evaluating and optimizing the performance of buildings across multiple dimensions, including energy efficiency, thermal comfort, indoor air quality, lighting, acoustics, and overall sustainability. Participants will gain practical knowledge of performance assessment tools, simulation software, and data-driven diagnostic techniques.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Building Performance Analysis: Definition and Scope of Building Performance, Key Performance Metrics (Energy, Comfort, IAQ), Importance of Performance Evaluation in Green Buildings, Roles and Responsibilities of a Building Performance Analyst, Overview of Building Systems and Envelopes, Regulatory Standards and Certifications (LEED, BREEAM, IGBC).

Module 2: Building Energy Performance: Energy Consumption Patterns in Buildings, Building Envelope Thermal Performance, HVAC System Efficiency Analysis, Lighting and Plug Load Assessment, Energy Modeling Tools and Software (e.g., EnergyPlus, eQUEST), Benchmarking and Energy Performance Indicators.

Module 3: Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ): Thermal Comfort and Airflow Distribution, Indoor Air Quality Assessment (CO₂, VOCs, Humidity), Daylighting and Visual Comfort Analysis, Acoustics and Noise Control, Occupant Behavior and Satisfaction Surveys, Measurement Tools and Monitoring Systems.

Module 4: Water and Resource Efficiency: Assessment of Water Usage and Wastewater Management, Water-Efficient Fixtures and Systems, Greywater and Rainwater Harvesting Analysis, Building Material Efficiency and Lifecycle Impact, Solid Waste Management Practices, Sustainable Procurement and Resource Tracking.

Module 5: Simulation, Diagnostics and Data Analysis: Introduction to Building Simulation Techniques, Use of BIM in Performance Analysis, Real-Time Monitoring with BMS and IoT Sensors, Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD), Data Visualization and Reporting Techniques, Predictive Analysis and Machine Learning Applications.

Module 6: Performance Optimization and Reporting: Identifying Performance Gaps and Opportunities, Retro-Commissioning and Optimization Strategies, Financial Evaluation of Performance Improvements, Creating Building Performance Reports and Dashboards, Regulatory Compliance and Third-Party Certifications, Case Studies of High-Performance Buildings.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
