Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The Certificate in Fire Prevention Management course is designed to equip participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills to proactively prevent fire incidents in residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional environments. The course covers fire science basics, hazard identification, fire load assessments, ignition source control, housekeeping practices, safe storage of flammable materials, electrical safety, and development of fire prevention plans.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Fire Science and Fire Prevention: Principles of fire chemistry and combustion, Fire classification and behavior in different environments, Importance and scope of fire prevention, Common causes of fire in residential, industrial, and commercial settings, Role and responsibilities of a Fire Prevention Specialist, Overview of fire prevention in fire safety management systems.

Module 2: Fire Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: Techniques for identifying ignition sources, fuel loads, and oxygen enrichment, Methods of evaluating fire risks in buildings and processes, Conducting fire load calculations and hazard mapping, Use of fire safety checklists and inspection templates, Risk categorization and prioritization of fire prevention measures, Integration of fire prevention into safety audits.

Module 3: Fire Prevention Strategies and Control Measures: Design and maintenance of passive fire protection systems, Safe storage, handling, and disposal of flammable materials, Housekeeping practices for fire prevention, Electrical fire prevention and wiring safety checks, Implementation of hot work permits and safety protocols, Routine fire safety inspections and follow-up.

Module 4: Fire Codes, Standards, and Regulatory Compliance: Overview of national and international fire codes (NBC Part IV, NFPA, IS standards), Local municipal and industrial fire regulations, Compliance requirements for occupancy certification and fire licensing, Documentation and recordkeeping for inspections and audits, Role of fire departments and government authorities in enforcement, Penalties for non-compliance and legal responsibilities.

Module 5: Fire Prevention Education and Safety Communication: Developing fire safety awareness programs and campaigns, Training building occupants and staff on fire preventive practices, Creating fire emergency signage and safety posters, Conducting community outreach for public fire prevention, Role of drills, demonstrations, and mock exercises, Communicating safety messages effectively across various levels.

Module 6: Investigation, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement: Basic principles of post-incident fire investigation, Identifying root causes and prevention failures, Documentation and reporting of fire-related incidents and near misses, Using fire incident data for preventive planning, Reviewing and updating fire prevention programs regularly, Case studies of fire incidents and prevention success stories.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
