Objective: The Certified Art Historian / Art Critic course is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the history, theory, and critical analysis of art across various periods, cultures, and styles. The program covers major art movements, influential artists, and the social, political, and cultural contexts that shape art production and reception. Students will develop skills in visual analysis, art interpretation, and critical writing, enabling them to evaluate and articulate informed opinions about artworks.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.
Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.
Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 2: Prehistoric to Classical Art: Prehistoric art and symbolism, Ancient Egyptian art and architecture, Greek art and sculpture, Roman art and innovations, Early Christian and Byzantine art, Art and society in classical antiquity.
Module 3: Medieval to Renaissance Art: Medieval art and Gothic architecture, Byzantine influences and iconography, The Renaissance: humanism and naturalism, Key Renaissance artists and works, Techniques and materials in Renaissance art, The spread of Renaissance ideas across Europe.
Module 4: Baroque to Romanticism: Characteristics of Baroque art, Major Baroque artists and their impact, Rococo art and its features, Neoclassicism and Enlightenment ideals, Romanticism and emotional expression, Transition from classical to modern perspectives.
Module 5: Modern Art Movements: Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, Expressionism and Fauvism, Cubism and Surrealism, Abstract art and minimalism, Pop art and contemporary critiques, Influence of technology on modern art.
Module 6: Art Criticism and Contemporary Practices: Principles of art criticism, Analytical frameworks and methodologies, Writing and presenting art critiques, Contemporary art and cultural contexts, Ethics and responsibilities of art critics, Careers and professional development in art history and criticism.
GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:
- Duration- 60 minutes.
- Number of Questions- 30.
- Number of Questions from each module: 5.
- Language: English.
- Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
- Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
