Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/HT/CBBS/V1

Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: This course is designed to equip hospitality professionals with the knowledge and skills required to manage bar and beverage operations efficiently within hotels, restaurants, resorts, and other hospitality settings. Participants will learn about beverage inventory management, mixology, service standards, staff supervision, cost control, health and safety regulations, customer service, and creating innovative beverage experiences.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 2: Beverage Knowledge & Menu Planning: Types of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, Wine, beer, spirits, cocktails, and mocktails basics, Beverage menu design and pricing, Pairing beverages with food, Seasonal and specialty beverage offerings, Trends in mixology and creative drinks

Module 3: Bar Operations & Service Excellence: Daily bar operations and workflow, Customer service standards and guest interaction, Opening and closing procedures, Inventory and stock management, Hygiene, safety, and compliance standards, Handling special requests and VIP guests

Module 4: Staff Management & Training: Recruitment and onboarding of bar staff, Staff scheduling and shift management, Training in beverage preparation and service, Performance monitoring and feedback, Motivation and team building, Conflict resolution and workplace communication

Module 5: Financial & Inventory Control: Budgeting and cost management for bar operations, Beverage cost calculation and pricing strategies, Waste reduction and portion control, Inventory tracking and reorder management, Supplier and vendor management, Financial reporting and performance analysis

Module 6: Leadership, Strategy & Innovation: Leadership skills for bar supervisors, Strategic planning and operational improvement, Implementing new beverage trends and innovations, Guest engagement and loyalty strategies, Risk management and compliance monitoring, Continuous improvement in bar and beverage operations

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
