Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).
Objective: The Certified Cargo Handling Specialist course is designed to equip participants with the practical skills and regulatory knowledge required for managing cargo movement from origin to destination. The course covers cargo classification, loading/unloading techniques, packaging standards, cargo securing methods, equipment operation, and handling of special cargo (e.g., hazardous, perishable, live animals, oversized freight).
Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:
Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.
Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.
Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.
Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.
Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.
Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.
Assessment Modules:
Module 1: Introduction to Cargo Handling Operations: Overview of cargo types: general, containerized, bulk, breakbulk, and special cargo, Roles and responsibilities of a Cargo Handling Specialist, Cargo handling processes at ports, airports, and warehouses, Key industry stakeholders and logistics chain integration, International regulations and safety standards (IMO, IATA, ICAO), Equipment and tools used in cargo handling.
Module 2: Cargo Handling Procedures and Techniques: Loading and unloading procedures for different cargo types, Container stuffing and de-stuffing techniques, Cargo lashing, securing, and dunnage practices, Cargo segregation based on compatibility and hazard, Safe handling of temperature-sensitive and perishable goods, Use of mechanical handling systems and automation.
Module 3: Documentation and Regulatory Compliance: Essential documents: packing list, cargo manifest, bill of lading, airway bill, Compliance with customs and port regulations, Dangerous goods handling and documentation (IATA DGR/IMDG), Inspection protocols and acceptance checklists, Recordkeeping and reporting procedures.
Module 4: Cargo Safety and Risk Management: Hazard identification and risk control in cargo handling, Personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices, Emergency procedures for cargo damage, spills, and accidents, Incident investigation and root cause analysis, Fire safety and hazardous material handling, Security protocols for high-value and sensitive cargo.
Module 5: Storage, Inventory, and Warehouse Coordination: Storage planning for various cargo categories, Stacking, racking, and space optimization, Inventory management and real-time tracking systems, Coordination between warehouse and terminal operations, FIFO, LIFO, and cross-docking methods, Warehouse safety and housekeeping standards.
Module 6: Quality, Efficiency, and Technology in Cargo Handling: Key performance indicators (KPIs) for cargo operations, Quality assurance and continuous improvement techniques, Use of cargo handling software and IoT tracking, Automation, robotics, and smart logistics systems, Cost control and operational efficiency strategies, Capstone project: design a safe and efficient cargo handling plan for a multimodal logistics hub.
GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:
- Duration- 60 minutes.
- Number of Questions- 30.
- Number of Questions from each module: 5.
- Language: English.
- Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
- Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
