Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Cargo Security Officer course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to safeguard cargo throughout the transportation and logistics chain. The course covers cargo security principles, threat identification, risk assessment, screening and inspection techniques, access control, and incident response. Participants will learn about international security standards and regulations such as C-TPAT, TSA, and ICAO Annex 17, as well as best practices for preventing theft, tampering, and sabotage.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Cargo Security and Regulatory Framework: Overview of cargo security in supply chain and logistics, Key roles and responsibilities of a Cargo Security Officer, International and national regulations and standards (TSA, ICAO, IATA, C-TPAT), Understanding threat types: terrorism, theft, sabotage, smuggling, Risk assessment principles in cargo security, Legal implications and compliance requirements.

Module 2: Cargo Screening and Inspection Techniques: Types of cargo screening methods: X-ray, CT scanning, physical inspection, sniffer dogs, and electronic sensors, Procedures for inspecting different cargo types (air, sea, road, rail), Identifying prohibited and suspicious items, Chain of custody and documentation during inspection, Handling screening equipment safely and effectively, Maintaining confidentiality and integrity during inspections.

Module 3: Security Procedures and Access Control: Securing cargo storage and transit areas, Access control systems and protocols for personnel and vehicles, Surveillance and monitoring technologies: CCTV, alarms, biometric systems, Implementing cargo sealing and tamper-evident measures, Incident response procedures for security breaches, Coordination with law enforcement and security agencies.

Module 4: Threat Detection and Risk Mitigation: Recognizing behavioral indicators of security threats, Profiling and screening of cargo handlers and transporters, Use of intelligence and threat information sharing, Developing and implementing risk mitigation plans, Emergency preparedness and response for security incidents, Reporting and documentation of suspicious activities and security events.

Module 5: Compliance Auditing and Security Management Systems: Conducting security audits and inspections according to regulatory requirements, Developing and maintaining security policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs), Training and awareness programs for staff on cargo security, Managing security documentation and records, Continuous improvement through feedback and incident analysis, Integration of security management systems with overall supply chain operations.

Module 6: Technology in Cargo Security and Future Trends: Emerging technologies in cargo security: AI, machine learning, blockchain for tracking, drones for surveillance, Use of data analytics for threat prediction and security optimization, Cybersecurity considerations in cargo and logistics operations, Adapting to evolving regulations and global security challenges, Capstone project: design a comprehensive cargo security plan for a multimodal logistics hub.
