Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/FS/CCSS/V1

Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Construction Safety Supervisor course is designed to provide comprehensive training in managing and supervising occupational health and safety practices in construction environments. The course covers site hazard identification, risk assessment, fall protection, scaffolding and ladder safety, excavation safety, electrical safety, crane and lifting operations, and fire prevention. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Construction Safety and Supervisor Role: Overview of construction industry hazards, Duties and responsibilities of a safety supervisor, Legal requirements and compliance in construction safety, Safety culture and leadership at construction sites, Communication and coordination with stakeholders, Importance of site safety planning and toolbox talks.

Module 2: Hazard Identification and Risk Control in Construction: Common site hazards (falls, electrocution, struck-by, caught-in), Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Hierarchy of risk controls and preventive measures, Incident and near-miss reporting procedures, Safety signage and color coding.

Module 3: Construction Site Safety Practices and Procedures: Scaffolding and ladder safety management, Excavation and trenching safety protocols, Working at heights and fall protection systems, Lifting operations and crane safety, Electrical safety and lockout/tagout (LOTO), Material handling and housekeeping practices.

Module 4: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Emergency Preparedness: Types and selection of PPE for construction activities, PPE maintenance and replacement procedures, Emergency response planning and evacuation routes, Fire prevention and control on site, First aid and rescue operations, Conducting mock drills and safety briefings.

Module 5: Health, Environmental, and Welfare Provisions on Site: Occupational health hazards (dust, noise, vibration, heat stress), Environmental protection measures and waste management, Welfare facilities for workers (sanitation, drinking water, rest areas), Ergonomic practices in construction work, Safety for confined space and hot work, Monitoring and controlling air and noise pollution.

Module 6: Safety Audits, Inspections, and Record Keeping: Conducting site safety audits and inspections, Preparation and use of checklists and reports, Documentation and safety records management, Root cause analysis and corrective actions, Evaluation of contractor safety performance, Continuous improvement through safety performance indicators and reviews.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
