Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/HF/CCTSA/V1

Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified CT Scan Assistant (CTSA) course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to assist radiologists and imaging technologists in the safe and effective operation of CT (Computed Tomography) scanners. The program covers anatomy, physiology, imaging principles, CT scan protocols, patient positioning, and preparation procedures.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to CT Scan Technology and Healthcare Imaging: Overview of medical imaging modalities, Role and responsibilities of a CT Scan Assistant, Basic human anatomy and physiology relevant to imaging, Principles of computed tomography (CT) imaging, Radiation safety and protection basics, Understanding imaging workflow in hospitals and diagnostic centers

Module 2: CT Scanner Operation and Equipment Handling: Types of CT scanners and components, CT scanner controls and user interface, Preparation and calibration of the CT machine, Routine maintenance and troubleshooting, Quality assurance checks, Safe handling of imaging equipment and accessories

Module 3: Patient Preparation and Positioning for CT Scans: Patient identification and verification, Explaining procedures and obtaining consent, Preparing patients for contrast administration, Correct patient positioning techniques for different scans, Ensuring patient comfort and safety, Monitoring patients during procedures

Module 4: CT Imaging Procedures and Protocols: Standard scanning protocols for head, chest, abdomen, and extremities, Use of contrast agents and timing protocols, Adjusting scan parameters for image quality, Multiphase and specialized CT studies, Recognizing artifacts and corrective actions, Documentation of scan procedures

Module 5: Image Processing, Archiving, and Reporting Support: Post-processing techniques and image reconstruction, Storage and retrieval of CT images (PACS), Basic image annotation and measurements, Generating preliminary image reports for radiologists, Maintaining patient records and confidentiality, Coordination with radiologists for report finalization

Module 6: Safety, Ethics, and Professional Practices: Radiation protection principles for patients and staff, Infection control and hygiene practices, Ethical considerations in patient care and imaging, Regulatory guidelines (HIPAA, OSHA, local radiology regulations), Emergency procedures during CT scans, Continuous learning and professional development in CT imaging

  • Duration- 60 minutes.

  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
