Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent is required.

Objective: The Certified Electrical Safety Officer course is designed to provide comprehensive training on identifying, assessing, and mitigating electrical hazards in industrial, commercial, and construction environments. The course covers electrical safety principles, risk assessment, grounding and bonding, arc flash and shock protection, overcurrent protection, and safe operation of electrical equipment. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Electrical Safety and Officer Responsibilities: Overview of electrical systems and components, Basic principles of electricity (voltage, current, resistance, grounding), Common electrical hazards (shock, arc flash, arc blast, fire), Importance of electrical safety in industrial and commercial settings, Roles and responsibilities of an Electrical Safety Officer, Introduction to safety culture and risk-based thinking.

Module 2: Electrical Standards, Codes, and Legal Compliance: National and international electrical safety standards (OSHA, NFPA 70E, IEC, IS codes), Legal requirements and regulatory compliance obligations, Electrical licensing, permits, and inspection mandates, Understanding statutory responsibilities of employers and safety officers, Documentation, safety policies, and compliance reporting, Penalties for non-compliance and audit preparedness.

Module 3: Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control Measures: Techniques for identifying electrical hazards in the workplace, Conducting Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Permit to Work (PTW) systems, Hierarchy of control measures for risk mitigation, Use of electrical safety checklists and tools, Continuous monitoring and reassessment strategies.

Module 4: Safe Electrical Work Practices and PPE: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for energy isolation, Establishing electrically safe work conditions, Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for electrical hazards, Safe practices for working on live and de-energized equipment, Safety measures for overhead and underground installations, Procedures for handling tools, testing devices, and conductors.

Module 5: Inspection, Maintenance, and Emergency Response: Inspection of electrical panels, wiring, earthing, and equipment, Preventive and predictive maintenance of electrical systems, Emergency response planning for electrical accidents, First aid and firefighting in case of electrical injuries or fires, Root cause analysis of incidents and near misses, Documentation and reporting of faults and failures.

Module 6: Electrical Safety Training, Audits, and Continuous Improvement: Planning and conducting electrical safety training programs, Developing awareness among electrical and non-electrical staff, Conducting internal audits and safety inspections, Performance indicators and safety reporting metrics, Promoting continuous improvement and safety culture, Case studies of electrical incidents and implementation of best practices.

  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
