Objective: The Certified Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Implementer (ISO 14001) course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to develop, implement, and maintain an Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO 14001:2015. The course focuses on the environmental aspects of EMS operations such as biomedical waste management, fuel use, emissions, water and energy consumption, and emergency response preparedness. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to ISO 14001 and Environmental Management Systems: Overview of ISO 14001:2015 standard and structure, Importance of EMS in healthcare and EMS operations, Key environmental issues in EMS activities, Terms and definitions related to environmental management, Benefits of implementing ISO 14001 in emergency services, Role and responsibilities of an EMS Implementer.

Module 2: Context of the Organization and Leadership Commitment: Understanding internal and external environmental factors, Identifying needs and expectations of interested parties, Defining EMS scope relevant to emergency medical services, Leadership roles and environmental policy development, Integrating EMS into the EMS organization’s core functions, Roles, responsibilities, and authorities for EMS implementation.

Module 3: Planning for EMS Implementation: Identification and evaluation of environmental aspects and impacts, Legal and regulatory compliance obligations for EMS providers, Risk and opportunity assessment in EMS operations, Setting environmental objectives and performance indicators, Action planning and resource allocation, Planning for continual improvement.

Module 4: Support and Operation Controls in EMS: EMS documentation and control of information, Competence, training, and awareness of EMS staff, Internal and external communication plans, Operational planning and environmental control procedures, Emergency preparedness and response in EMS activities, Environmentally sound procurement and service delivery.

Module 5: Performance Evaluation and Monitoring: Monitoring, measurement, and analysis of environmental performance, Evaluation of compliance with environmental laws and regulations, Internal audit planning and execution (ISO 14001 focus), Management review and performance reporting, Use of KPIs and dashboards in EMS environmental monitoring, Handling nonconformities and improvement actions.

Module 6: Implementation, Certification, and Continual Improvement: Steps to implement ISO 14001 in EMS organizations, Change management and overcoming implementation challenges, Readiness assessment and gap analysis, Preparing for external audits and certification process, Case studies of EMS ISO 14001 implementation success, Promoting a culture of sustainability and continual improvement in EMS.
