Eligibility: 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Fabric Designer course aims to equip participants with comprehensive knowledge and creative skills in designing fabrics for fashion, home textiles, and industrial applications. The course covers fabric construction methods, yarn and fiber properties, surface design techniques, color theory, and textile printing. Participants will learn to develop innovative fabric designs through both traditional handcraft and digital technologies, while considering functionality, aesthetics, and market trends.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Module 1: Introduction to Fabric Design: Overview of Fabric Design, History and Evolution of Fabric Design, Types of Fabrics and Their Characteristics, Role of a Fabric Designer in the Textile Industry, Key Applications of Fabric Design (Fashion, Home Décor, Technical Textiles), Understanding the Fabric Design Process (Concept to Production).

Module 2: Fiber and Yarn Selection for Fabric Design: Understanding Different Types of Fibers (Natural, Synthetic, Blended), Fiber Properties and Their Impact on Fabric Design, Yarn Structures (Spun vs. Filament, Twist, Ply), Yarn Preparation for Weaving, Knitting, and Dyeing, Choosing the Right Fiber Blend for Desired Fabric Properties, Sustainable and Eco-friendly Fibers in Fabric Design.

Module 3: Fabric Construction Techniques: Weaving Techniques (Plain, Twill, Satin, Jacquard, Dobby), Knitting Techniques (Warp and Weft Knits), Nonwoven Fabric Construction, Advanced Fabric Structures (3D Weaving, Double-Faced Fabrics), Techniques for Fabric Manipulation (Pleating, Tucking, Smocking), Role of a Fabric Designer in Developing Fabric Structures.

Module 4: Color Theory, Dyeing, and Printing in Fabric Design: Understanding Color Theory and Its Application in Fabric Design, Color Palettes, Harmonies, and Contrasts for Fabrics, Dyeing Techniques for Fabric Design (Reactive, Disperse, Acid, Pigment), Digital and Screen Printing on Fabrics, Creating Patterns and Designs for Fabric Printing, Achieving Color Fastness and Quality in Fabric Design.

Module 5: Fabric Design Software and Tools: Introduction to Fabric Design Software (Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, Textile CAD, etc.), Digital Tools for Creating Fabric Patterns and Motifs, Developing and Simulating Fabric Textures in Design Software, Understanding and Using Textile Design Templates, Working with Color and Fabric Libraries, Preparing Digital Designs for Fabric Production.

Module 6: Sustainable Practices and Future Trends in Fabric Design: Sustainability in Fabric Design (Eco-friendly Fabrics, Waterless Dyeing, Biodegradable Materials), Designing for Circular Economy and Fabric Recycling, Innovations in Fabric Technology (Smart Fabrics, Wearable Textiles), Trends in Sustainable Fabric Design, Ethical Sourcing and Fair Trade in Fabric Production, The Future of Fabric Design: Technology and Sustainability Integration.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
