Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/AT/CFD/V1

Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Fashion Designer course aims to develop participants’ creative and technical skills to design original and marketable fashion collections. The course covers design principles, fashion illustration, textile selection, garment construction, pattern making, draping, trend forecasting, and sustainable design practices. Participants will learn to translate concepts into finished garments, understand fashion cycles, and apply knowledge of consumer behavior and market demands.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Fashion Design: Overview of Fashion Design, History of Fashion and Key Designers, Fashion Design Process, Fashion Design Principles and Elements, Role of a Fashion Designer in the Industry, Understanding Market and Consumer Needs.

Module 2: Fashion Drawing and Illustration: Basics of Fashion Sketching and Drawing Techniques, Developing Fashion Figures and Proportions, Drawing Clothing and Accessories, Fashion Illustration with Different Media (Pencil, Watercolor, Digital), Color Theory in Fashion Design, Creating Fashion Croquis and Technical Flats.

Module 3: Fabric and Textile Science: Introduction to Fabrics and Textiles, Types of Fabrics (Natural, Synthetic, Blended), Fabric Properties (Texture, Weight, Stretch), Understanding Dyeing and Printing Techniques, Working with Patterns and Prints, Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Fabrics.

Module 4: Pattern Making and Garment Construction: Introduction to Pattern Making, Creating Basic Patterns and Blocks, Draping Techniques for Garment Design, Fabric Manipulation and Textile Techniques, Garment Construction and Assembly, Fitting and Alterations.

Module 5: Fashion Trends and Forecasting: Understanding Fashion Trends, Fashion Forecasting Tools and Techniques, Identifying Emerging Trends in Fabrics, Colors, and Styles, Consumer Behavior and Market Analysis, Designing with Future Trends in Mind, Collaborating with Trend Agencies.

Module 6: Fashion Collection Development and Portfolio: Developing a Fashion Collection, Concept Development and Mood Boards, Creating a Design Portfolio, Presentation and Marketing Techniques, Costing and Pricing of Designs, Preparing Designs for Fashion Shows or Manufacturing.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
