Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/FS/CFRR/V1

Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Fire & Rescue Responder course is designed to provide comprehensive training in firefighting and rescue operations across a variety of emergency scenarios. The course covers fire behavior, fire suppression techniques, search and rescue procedures, use of firefighting equipment (hoses, ladders, extinguishers, SCBA), rescue from confined spaces and high-risk zones, victim stabilization, and emergency evacuation protocols. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Fire Behavior and Emergency Response: Principles of fire science and combustion process, Classes and characteristics of fire, Stages of fire development and fire spread, Role and responsibilities of a fire and rescue responder, Overview of emergency response protocols, Coordination with fire control room and first responders.

Module 2: Firefighting Equipment and Suppression Techniques: Types and usage of firefighting equipment (hoses, nozzles, extinguishers), Fixed and portable fire suppression systems, Fire suppression techniques for different fire classes (A, B, C, D, K), Operation of hydrants, pumps, and foam systems, Water supply management and hose deployment, Inspection and maintenance of firefighting tools.

Module 3: Rescue Operations and Extrication Techniques: Search and rescue procedures in fire and non-fire emergencies, Use of rescue tools (cutters, spreaders, ropes), Victim extrication from confined spaces, vehicles, and collapsed structures, Lifting, carrying, and moving injured persons safely, High-angle, trench, and water rescue basics, Safety procedures during structural collapse and entrapment.

Module 4: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Team Safety: Types and use of PPE for firefighting and rescue operations, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) operation and safety, Heat stress, visibility, and chemical exposure precautions, Communication and signaling during firefighting, Team coordination, buddy system, and accountability, Decontamination and hygiene after operations.

Module 5: Emergency Medical Response and Fireground First Aid: Primary patient assessment and triage procedures, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and bleeding control, Managing burn injuries, fractures, and smoke inhalation, Use of first aid kits and automated external defibrillators (AEDs), Stabilizing victims before evacuation, Coordination with paramedics and ambulance services.

Module 6: Fire Safety Regulations, Drills, and Post-Incident Procedures: Applicable fire safety regulations and responder obligations, Conducting fire drills, evacuation simulations, and mock exercises, Fire report writing and incident documentation, Post-incident analysis and debriefing, Maintenance of operational readiness and equipment logs, Case studies of rescue operations and fire response effectiveness.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
