Objective: The Certified Foreign Trade Policy Advisor course is designed to equip participants with the expertise to navigate and interpret national and international trade policies, regulations, and procedures. The course covers key aspects of foreign trade policy frameworks, WTO guidelines, import-export regulations, duty exemption schemes (such as EPCG and Advance Authorization), tariff and non-tariff barriers, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), and trade facilitation measures. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Foreign Trade and Global Trade Environment: Introduction to international trade theories and practices, Role of WTO, IMF, and World Bank in global trade, Structure of India’s foreign trade and economic policies, Key international trade agreements and trade blocs (RCEP, EU, NAFTA), Overview of import-export procedures and INCOTERMS, Understanding balance of trade, balance of payments, and trade deficits.

Module 2: India’s Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) Framework and Structure: Objectives and evolution of India’s Foreign Trade Policy, Major schemes under FTP: MEIS, SEIS, RoDTEP, EPCG, DFIA, Advance Authorization, Role of DGFT and other nodal agencies in FTP implementation, Export promotion councils and their functions, Understanding FTP chapters: general provisions, incentives, procedures, and documentation.

Module 3: Export-Import Documentation and Regulatory Compliance: Essential export-import documentation: IEC, commercial invoice, packing list, shipping bill, e-BRC, Regulatory clearances: customs, DGFT, RBI, SEZ and EOU compliances, Digital initiatives: DGFT portal, ICEGATE, EDI filing, Licensing, quota systems, and SCOMET list handling, Understanding Letters of Credit, Bill of Lading, and international payment methods.

Module 4: Foreign Exchange Management and Trade Finance: Basics of foreign exchange markets and currency risk management, FEMA regulations and RBI guidelines related to trade, Export credit, pre-shipment and post-shipment finance, Role of EXIM Bank, ECGC, and commercial banks in trade finance, Managing payment terms and international banking instruments, Understanding trade financing tools like forfaiting and factoring.

Module 5: Tariff, Non-Tariff Barriers, and Trade Facilitation Measures: Understanding customs duty structure and HS code classification, Tariff barriers: anti-dumping, safeguard duties, Non-tariff barriers: quotas, licensing, phytosanitary and technical regulations, Role of WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA), Logistics, warehousing, and port infrastructure in trade facilitation, Simplifying procedures through AEO, ICEGATE, and SWIFT system.

Module 6: Policy Advisory, Strategic Planning, and Export Promotion: Techniques in trade policy analysis and strategic export planning, Identifying target markets using trade data and analytics tools, Advising on FTP compliance, duty drawback, and incentive optimization, Sector-specific policy advisory (agriculture, pharma, textile, engineering), Supporting MSMEs and start-ups in export growth strategies, Case studies on successful trade interventions and policy impacts.

  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
