Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/AD/CGD/V1

Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Game Designer course is designed to develop creative and technical professionals who can conceptualize, design, and develop engaging and interactive digital games for various platforms. The course covers game design principles, storytelling and narrative development, gameplay mechanics, level design, character creation, UI/UX design, and prototyping. Participants will also gain hands-on experience with game development tools and engines such as Unity, Unreal Engine, or Godot, along with basics of scripting (C# or Blueprint). 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Game Design and Development: Overview of Game Design Principles and History, Types and Genres of Games (Casual, RPG, FPS, Mobile, AR/VR), Game Development Process and Production Pipeline, Role and Responsibilities of a Game Designer, Understanding Game Platforms and Technologies, Introduction to Game Engines (Unity, Unreal).

Module 2: Game Mechanics and Core Systems: Designing Game Rules, Goals, and Player Actions, Game Loops and Progression Systems, Balancing Difficulty and Reward Systems, Level Design Fundamentals and Flow, Player Feedback and Input Systems, Creating Immersive and Engaging Game Mechanics.

Module 3: Storytelling and Narrative Design: Elements of Storytelling in Games (Plot, Setting, Characters), Writing Branching Dialogues and Interactive Narratives, Worldbuilding Techniques and Lore Development, Integrating Story with Gameplay, Cinematics and Cutscene Planning, Tools for Scripting Narrative Content.

Module 4: Game Art and User Interface Design: Fundamentals of 2D and 3D Game Art Styles, Character Design and Environment Art Basics, Animation Principles in Games, Designing Intuitive User Interfaces (UI) and HUDs, Visual Consistency and Style Guides, Tools for Game Art Creation (Photoshop, Blender, Illustrator).

Module 5: Prototyping, Testing, and Iteration: Creating Paper and Digital Game Prototypes, Playtesting Techniques and Feedback Gathering, Iterative Design Process and Rapid Refinement, Bug Tracking and Issue Resolution, Version Control and Build Management, MVP (Minimum Viable Product) Testing Approach.

Module 6: Game Publishing, Monetization, and Industry Practices: Game Publishing Platforms and Distribution Channels, Monetization Models (Freemium, In-App Purchases, Ads), Game Marketing Strategies and Community Building, Legal and Ethical Issues in Game Development, Portfolio Creation and Pitching Game Concepts, Career Paths and Roles in the Game Industry.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
