Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).
Objective: The Certified Geriatric Care Assistant / Specialist course is designed to develop skilled professionals who can provide comprehensive, compassionate, and dignified care to elderly individuals. The course focuses on understanding the physical, emotional, social, and psychological needs of aging populations. Trainees are equipped with skills in personal hygiene care, mobility support, nutrition assistance, medication management, dementia and Alzheimer’s care, communication techniques, and palliative care practices.
Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:
Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.
Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.
Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.
Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.
Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.
Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.
Assessment Modules:
Module 1: Introduction to Geriatric Care and Aging Process: Overview of geriatric care and its importance, Physical, psychological and social aspects of aging, Common geriatric health conditions and chronic diseases, Impact of aging on mobility, cognition and senses, Role and responsibilities of a geriatric care assistant, Ethical and legal considerations in elderly care.
Module 2: Personal Care and Hygiene for the Elderly: Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting, Maintaining oral hygiene and skin integrity, Mobility support and prevention of falls, Managing incontinence and use of adult diapers, Ensuring dignity, privacy and comfort during care, Infection control and hand hygiene practices.
Module 3: Nutrition, Medication and Daily Living Support: Understanding nutritional needs of elderly individuals, Meal planning, preparation and feeding assistance, Monitoring food and fluid intake, Medication reminders and storage protocols, Assisting with daily routines and household tasks, Identifying signs of dehydration or malnutrition.
Module 4: Communication and Emotional Support: Effective verbal and non-verbal communication with elderly, Active listening and empathy in caregiving, Supporting emotional and psychological well-being, Handling dementia, depression and mood changes, Building trust and rapport with elderly and families, Encouraging social interaction and engagement.
Module 5: Safety, Emergency and Health Monitoring: Creating a safe living environment for seniors, Fall prevention and safe transfer techniques, Monitoring vital signs and recognizing health changes, Basic first aid and emergency response, Use of assistive devices and mobility aids, Reporting health concerns to healthcare professionals.
Module 6: Palliative and End-of-Life Care: Principles of palliative and hospice care, Providing comfort and emotional support to terminally ill, Managing pain and distress in end-of-life situations, Respecting cultural and spiritual beliefs, Supporting family members and caregivers, Documentation and ethical care at the end of life.
GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:
- Duration- 60 minutes.
- Number of Questions- 30.
- Number of Questions from each module: 5.
- Language: English.
- Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
- Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
- There is no negative marking in any module.
