Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Health Information Management: Definition and scope of health information management, Role of HIM professionals in healthcare systems, Types of health records and documentation, Importance of data accuracy, privacy, and confidentiality, Legal and ethical aspects of health information, Overview of healthcare delivery systems.

Module 2: Medical Records and Documentation Standards: Components of patient medical records, Record classification (inpatient, outpatient, emergency), Medical terminology and abbreviations, Record retention and destruction policies, Electronic vs paper-based record systems, Documentation standards and audit trails.

Module 3: Health Data Coding and Classification: Basics of medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), Coding guidelines and compliance, Clinical documentation improvement (CDI), Use of disease and procedure classification systems, Coders’ role in reimbursement and insurance claims, Error prevention in data entry and coding.

Module 4: Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Information Systems: EHR systems overview and functionalities, Health Information Systems (HIS) and interoperability, Data entry, retrieval, and analytics, Information governance and cybersecurity, Legal requirements for electronic documentation, Role of AI and digital tools in HIM.

Module 5: Health Information Laws and Compliance: Healthcare privacy laws (HIPAA, GDPR, local regulations), Legal aspects of record disclosure and consent, Patient rights and data protection, Fraud prevention and legal documentation standards, Ethics in health information management, Reporting to authorities and audits.

Module 6: Quality Management and Data Analytics in HIM: Role of HIM in quality assurance, Health statistics and reporting, Data collection and performance measurement, Health informatics and predictive analytics, Benchmarking and dashboard reporting, Supporting clinical and administrative decision-making.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
