Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Healthcare Systems and Billing Fundamentals: Healthcare delivery systems overview, Roles and responsibilities of a Certified Hospital Billing Officer, Basic medical terminology and abbreviations, Healthcare compliance and regulatory standards, Overview of hospital billing workflow, Patient registration and insurance verification

Module 2: Coding Systems and Clinical Documentation: ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding fundamentals, CPT/HCPCS procedure coding basics, Modifiers and coding guidelines, Clinical documentation requirements, Medical necessity and coding accuracy, Common coding errors and audit preparation

Module 3: Insurance Plans and Reimbursement Methods: Types of insurance plans (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, Managed Care), Coordination of benefits, Prospective Payment Systems (PPS), DRG/APC reimbursement methodologies, Prior authorization and pre-certification, Payer-specific billing rules and policies

Module 4: Hospital Billing Processes and Charge Capture: Charge description master (CDM) basics, Charge capture workflows, UB-04 form fields and billing requirements, Revenue codes and bill types, Claim generation and submission process, Late charges and reconciliation

Module 5: Denials, Appeals, and Accounts Receivable Management: Types of claim denials and reasons, Denial prevention strategies, Appeal letter preparation and supporting documentation, Follow-up procedures for outstanding claims, Payment posting and reconciliation, AR performance metrics and reporting

Module 6: Compliance, Ethics, and Healthcare Regulations: HIPAA privacy and security rules, Fraud, waste, and abuse prevention, OIG and CMS compliance guidelines, Internal audits and corrective action plans, Ethical billing practices, Professional conduct and continuous education

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
