Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The objective of the Certified Housekeeping Manager course is to develop competent professionals who can lead and manage housekeeping departments effectively. This course focuses on maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and comfort in guest-centric and service-oriented environments such as hotels, resorts, hospitals, corporate offices, and institutions. It blends technical skills with managerial and customer service training.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Housekeeping Operations: Role and importance of housekeeping in hospitality, Organizational structure of the housekeeping department, Interdepartmental coordination, Guest room layout and types, Housekeeping responsibilities and workflow, Standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Module 2: Cleaning Science and Procedures: Types of cleaning agents and equipment, Daily, periodic, and deep cleaning procedures, Cleaning techniques for various surfaces, Bed making and turndown services, Restroom and public area cleaning, Waste management and sanitation.

Module 3: Housekeeping Supervision and Staff Management: Duties of a housekeeping supervisor, Staff scheduling and duty rosters, Training and performance evaluation, Time and resource management, Motivation and conflict resolution, Communication and leadership skills.

Module 4: Inventory and Budget Management: Linen and laundry management, Procurement and storage of cleaning supplies, Inventory control techniques, Budget preparation and cost control, Stock audits and par levels, Energy and resource conservation.

Module 5: Safety, Hygiene and Quality Assurance: Occupational health and safety practices, Personal hygiene and grooming standards, First aid and accident handling, Pest control and infection prevention, Quality checks and inspection reports, Handling guest complaints and feedback.

Module 6: Technology and Trends in Housekeeping: Use of housekeeping management software, Automation in cleaning and laundry, Eco-friendly and sustainable practices, Trends in hospitality housekeeping, Housekeeping during COVID and post-pandemic protocols, Case studies and industry best practices.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
