Objective: The Certified Hydropower Construction Specialist course is designed to provide professionals with the technical expertise and project management skills required for the successful construction of hydropower facilities. The course covers key aspects such as site assessment, civil and structural works (dams, tunnels, penstocks, powerhouses), electromechanical installations (turbines, generators), construction sequencing, quality control, and environmental and safety compliance.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Hydropower and Project Planning: Types and Classifications of Hydropower Plants, Components of a Hydropower System, Site Selection and Feasibility Studies, Hydrological and Geological Assessments, Regulatory Approvals and Environmental Clearances, Project Planning and Scheduling.

Module 2: Civil Works and Structural Components: Dam Types and Construction Methods, Spillway Design and Construction, Intake Structures and Trash Racks, Headrace Tunnels and Penstocks, Surge Shaft and Pressure Shaft Construction, Powerhouse Civil Works and Foundations.

Module 3: Hydromechanical and Electromechanical Works: Selection and Installation of Turbines and Generators, Design and Fabrication of Gates and Valves, Installation of Penstocks and Anchor Blocks, Testing and Commissioning of Electro-Mechanical Systems, Control and Automation Systems, Operation and Maintenance of Equipment.

Module 4: Construction Management and Site Operations: Construction Planning and Resource Management, Equipment and Material Logistics, Site Safety and Hazard Control, Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QC/QA), Contractor and Subcontractor Coordination, Construction Progress Monitoring and Reporting.

Module 5: Environmental and Social Management: Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Procedures, Sediment and Erosion Control Measures, Fish Passage and Biodiversity Conservation, Resettlement and Rehabilitation Guidelines, Sustainable Construction Practices, Compliance Monitoring and Environmental Audits.

Module 6: Advanced Practices and Case Studies: Underground Hydropower Construction Techniques, Risk Assessment and Mitigation Planning, Use of BIM and Digital Tools in Hydropower Projects, Lessons Learned from Global Hydropower Projects, Life Cycle Cost Analysis, Case Studies of Large and Small Hydropower Projects.
