Objective:The Certified Industrial Hygienist course is designed to provide participants with advanced knowledge and practical skills in identifying and managing occupational health risks related to chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic hazards. The course covers exposure assessment, air and noise monitoring, ventilation systems, toxicology, occupational diseases, personal protective equipment (PPE), and control technologies.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Industrial Hygiene and Regulatory Framework: Definition, scope, and objectives of industrial hygiene, Historical evolution and significance in occupational health, Key roles and responsibilities of an Industrial Hygienist, Overview of regulatory standards (OSHA, ACGIH, NIOSH, ISO), Code of ethics and professional practices in industrial hygiene, Integration of industrial hygiene with EHS management systems.

Module 2: Recognition of Occupational Health Hazards: Types of occupational hazards: chemical, physical, biological, ergonomic, Methods for identifying and characterizing workplace hazards, Workplace walkthroughs, job hazard analysis, and process evaluation, Understanding Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and labeling systems, Routes of exposure and toxicological principles, Sources of contamination and high-risk operations.

Module 3: Evaluation and Monitoring of Workplace Hazards: Air sampling methods: personal, area, grab, and continuous monitoring, Use of instruments for gas, vapor, dust, and noise measurement, Biological and environmental monitoring procedures, Interpretation of exposure limits (TLVs, PELs, RELs), Strategies for baseline and periodic exposure assessments, Data analysis, documentation, and reporting formats.

Module 4: Control Methods and Exposure Mitigation: Hierarchy of controls: elimination, substitution, engineering, administrative, and PPE, Design and implementation of ventilation systems (general, local exhaust), Selection and maintenance of respiratory protection and PPE, Work practice controls and ergonomic improvements, Emergency planning and containment procedures, Effectiveness evaluation of control measures.

Module 5: Health Surveillance, Medical Monitoring, and Training: Occupational health surveillance programs and protocols, Baseline and periodic medical examinations, Biological exposure indices (BEIs) and threshold tracking, Roles of occupational health professionals and coordination needs, Training programs for hazard communication and safe practices, Promoting worker involvement and early symptom reporting.

Module 6: Audit, Documentation, and Continuous Improvement: Industrial hygiene audit preparation and execution, Developing hygiene-related procedures and SOPs, Maintaining sampling records, lab reports, and compliance documents, Root cause analysis of health-related incidents and illnesses, KPIs and performance indicators for hygiene effectiveness, Continual improvement strategies and best practice integration.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
