Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/AD/CID/V1

Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Interior Designer course is structured to provide comprehensive training in the art and science of interior design. The program equips students with the creative and technical skills needed to design functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing interior spaces. Key areas of study include space planning, color theory, lighting design, materials and finishes, furniture selection, and sustainable design practices. Students will gain hands-on experience using industry-standard design tools and software (such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and 3D modeling).

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Fundamentals of Interior Design: Principles and elements of design, History and evolution of interior design, Interior design styles and themes, Color theory and application, Human factors and ergonomics, Space planning basics.

Module 2: Materials, Finishes, and Furnishings: Types of construction and finishing materials, Flooring and wall treatments, Furniture styles and materials, Fabrics, textiles, and upholstery, Window treatments and accessories, Sustainable and eco-friendly materials.

Module 3: Lighting and Interior Environment: Types of lighting (ambient, task, accent), Lighting design and planning, Natural vs. artificial lighting, HVAC and indoor comfort, Acoustics and sound control, Energy-efficient lighting solutions.

Module 4: Technical Drawing and Visualization: Freehand sketching techniques, Drafting and technical drawing, CAD software for interior design, 3D modeling and rendering, Reading architectural plans, Presentation boards and mood boards.

Module 5: Residential and Commercial Interiors: Designing living spaces and bedrooms, Kitchen and bathroom planning, Office and workspace design, Retail and hospitality interiors, Space zoning and circulation, Accessibility and universal design.

Module 6: Professional Practice and Project Management: Client consultation and needs assessment, Design proposal and budgeting, Project scheduling and execution, Legal and ethical considerations, Portfolio development and presentation, Starting and managing an interior design business.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
