Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Inventory Optimization Specialist course is designed to equip participants with advanced skills and tools to manage inventory more effectively across diverse industries. The course covers inventory planning methodologies, demand forecasting, safety stock calculation, replenishment models (EOQ, JIT, Min-Max), ABC/XYZ classification, and lead time analysis. It also includes training in the use of optimization tools, ERP systems, data analytics, and inventory KPIs such as turnover ratio, fill rate, and carrying cost. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Principles of Inventory Management and Optimization: Understanding inventory types and classifications (raw materials, WIP, finished goods), Objectives of inventory optimization: balance between cost, service, and efficiency, Key inventory metrics: inventory turnover, carrying cost, fill rate, Inventory management techniques: JIT, EOQ, VMI, ABC analysis, Importance of inventory accuracy and visibility, Role of the Inventory Optimization Specialist in supply chain performance.

Module 2: Demand Forecasting and Planning Integration: Basics of demand forecasting: qualitative and quantitative methods, Integration of sales forecasts with inventory planning, Forecast error measurement: MAD, MAPE, and tracking signal, Impact of demand variability on inventory levels and safety stock, Collaborative planning with sales, marketing, and operations, Tools and software used for forecasting and inventory planning.

Module 3: Safety Stock, Replenishment, and Service Level Strategies: Calculating safety stock based on demand variability and lead time, Reorder point (ROP) and reorder quantity (ROQ) models, Multi-echelon inventory planning and distribution alignment, Inventory policies based on service level targets (95%, 98%, etc.), Balancing stockouts and overstock risk, Dynamic replenishment strategies for different product categories.

Module 4: Inventory Segmentation and Strategic Stock Placement: ABC, XYZ, and FSN inventory classification for priority planning, Differentiating inventory strategies by SKU behavior and value, Strategic stock positioning in central vs regional warehouses, Segmentation by lifecycle stage: new launch, steady, obsolete, Creating tailored inventory policies per item category, Managing promotional, seasonal, and slow-moving inventory.

Module 5: Technology, Analytics, and Automation in Optimization: Use of WMS, ERP, and advanced planning systems (APS), Role of data analytics and dashboards in inventory decision-making, IoT and real-time inventory tracking technologies, AI/ML for predictive inventory optimization, Integrating automation with inventory replenishment systems, Case studies of technology-driven inventory optimization success.

Module 6: Performance Measurement, Cost Control, and Continuous Improvement: Key inventory KPIs: aging report, shrinkage, stock cover days, Developing inventory cost control strategies and budget alignment, Lean inventory practices and waste reduction techniques, Root cause analysis for excess, obsolete, or lost stock, Continuous improvement tools: Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen in inventory, Capstone project: develop an inventory optimization plan for a multi-location distribution business.
