Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/AD/CJD/V1

Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Jewellery Designer course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to conceptualize, design, and create exquisite jewelry pieces using traditional and modern techniques. The course covers jewelry design principles, gemology, materials and metals, CAD-based design, sketching and rendering, jewelry production processes, market trends, branding, and client engagement.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Fundamentals of Jewellery Design: Introduction to jewellery design, History and evolution of jewellery, Principles of design (balance, proportion, symmetry), Elements of art applied to jewellery, Types of jewellery (rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets), Case studies of iconic jewellery designs

Module 2: Materials and Gemology: Understanding metals (gold, silver, platinum, alloys), Gemstones and precious materials, Properties of metals and stones, Selection of materials for design and durability, Sustainable and ethical sourcing, Quality assessment and certification of materials

Module 3: Design Techniques and Tools: Sketching and conceptual drawing, CAD (Computer-Aided Design) for jewellery, 3D modeling and rendering, Prototyping and wax carving, Engraving and surface detailing, Traditional handcrafting techniques

Module 4: Manufacturing and Production: Casting and molding techniques, Stone setting methods, Finishing and polishing, Jewelry assembly and soldering, Quality control and inspection, Collaboration with manufacturers and artisans

Module 5: Trend Analysis and Market Awareness: Jewellery trends and forecasting, Understanding consumer preferences, Cultural and regional influences in design, Competitive analysis and market positioning, Branding and style development, Designing for various segments (luxury, fashion, custom)

Module 6: Professional Practice and Portfolio Development: Building a professional jewellery design portfolio, Presenting concepts to clients and stakeholders, Pricing and cost estimation, Intellectual property and copyright in design, Networking and industry participation, Continuous skill development and staying updated with trends

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
