Certification Name: Certified Lift & Elevator Installation Technician

Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/C/CLEIT/V1

Eligibility: 10th (High School) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Lift & Elevator Installation Technician course is designed to provide professionals with the technical skills and knowledge required to safely install, maintain, and troubleshoot lifts and elevators. Participants will learn about mechanical and electrical systems, control mechanisms, safety standards, and industry regulations. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Lift & Elevator Systems: Overview of elevator types and systems, Role and responsibilities of an installation technician, Components of elevators (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic), Safety standards and regulations, Elevator terminology and standards, Trends and innovations in elevator technology

Module 2: Electrical and Mechanical Fundamentals: Basic electrical principles for elevator systems, Motors, drives, and control circuits, Mechanical components (hoist, pulleys, counterweights), Power supply and distribution, Tools and equipment for installation, Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues

Module 3: Elevator Installation Procedures: Site preparation and safety considerations, Assembly of elevator components, Installation of guide rails, cabins, and counterweights, Wiring and control system integration, Testing and calibration procedures, Coordination with construction teams

Module 4: Safety, Codes, and Compliance: Occupational safety procedures and PPE, National and international elevator codes, Fire and emergency safety systems, Safety inspections and checklists, Compliance documentation and certification, Risk assessment and hazard mitigation

Module 5: Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Routine maintenance procedures, Identifying and diagnosing faults, Preventive and corrective maintenance, Software and control panel troubleshooting, Record-keeping and maintenance logs, Emergency repair procedures

Module 6: Professional Development and Ethics: Customer service and communication skills, Documentation and reporting standards, Ethical practices in installation and maintenance, Continuous learning and skill upgrades, Certification and licensing requirements, Career growth and industry best practices

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
