Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).
Objective: The Certified Lighting Designer course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to design, implement, and manage effective lighting solutions for architectural, stage, film, photography, and digital media projects. The course covers lighting theory, color science, illumination techniques, lighting equipment, design software, mood and ambiance creation, energy efficiency, and safety standards.
Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:
Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.
Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.
Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.
Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.
Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.
Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.
Assessment Modules:
Module 1: Fundamentals of Lighting Design: Introduction to lighting design, Principles of light and color, Understanding light behavior (reflection, refraction, diffusion), Types of lighting (ambient, task, accent), Lighting terminology and metrics, Case studies of lighting design in architecture, film, and events
Module 2: Technical Knowledge and Equipment: Overview of lighting fixtures and tools, LED, incandescent, fluorescent, and smart lighting systems, Control consoles and dimmers, Lighting accessories (gels, diffusers, reflectors), Safety and handling of lighting equipment, Maintenance and troubleshooting
Module 3: Design Process and Conceptualization: Concept development for lighting projects, Mood, atmosphere, and storytelling through light, Sketching and rendering lighting concepts, Light placement and composition techniques, Balancing natural and artificial lighting, Integrating lighting design with interior or stage design
Module 4: Architectural and Interior Lighting Design: Principles of architectural lighting, Residential and commercial lighting design, Accent and feature lighting, Energy efficiency and sustainable lighting solutions, Lighting codes and standards, Simulation and modeling tools for design
Module 5: Stage, Event, and Film Lighting: Stage lighting fundamentals, Theater and concert lighting design, Film and video lighting techniques, Special effects and dynamic lighting, Programming lighting cues and sequences, Collaboration with directors and production teams
Module 6: Professional Practice and Portfolio Development: Developing a professional lighting design portfolio, Presenting lighting concepts to clients and stakeholders, Project management and budgeting for lighting projects, Staying updated with industry trends and technology, Ethical and safety standards in lighting, Continuous skill development and professional growth
GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:
- Duration- 60 minutes.
- Number of Questions- 30.
- Number of Questions from each module: 5.
- Language: English.
- Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
- Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
