Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Maritime Logistics Officer course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and operational skills needed to oversee logistics activities within the maritime sector. The course covers cargo planning and scheduling, port and terminal coordination, vessel operations support, freight documentation (e.g., bill of lading, manifest), customs and clearance procedures, and compliance with international maritime regulations (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL).

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Maritime Logistics: Overview of maritime logistics and global supply chains, Role and responsibilities of a Maritime Logistics Officer, Types of cargo and shipping services (liner, tramp, bulk, container), Port and terminal functions in logistics, Key maritime stakeholders: shipping lines, port authorities, freight forwarders, Overview of international maritime organizations and conventions (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL).

Module 2: Cargo Operations and Handling: Cargo classification and characteristics, Loading, unloading, and transshipment procedures, Containerization and unitization methods, Special cargo handling (hazardous, perishable, oversized), Use of cargo handling equipment and automation, Coordination with stevedores, agents, and terminal operators.

Module 3: Maritime Transport Documentation and Compliance: Essential shipping documents: bill of lading, manifest, packing list, Letter of credit and Incoterms in maritime logistics, Customs clearance procedures and port formalities, Compliance with regulatory frameworks (IMDG, ISPS, IATA DGR), Digital documentation and electronic data interchange (EDI).

Module 4: Logistics Planning and Coordination: Route planning and voyage scheduling, Intermodal and multimodal logistics integration, Coordination between ports, shipping lines, and inland transport, Inventory and supply chain coordination at sea and shore, Contingency and delay management, Use of logistics software and vessel tracking systems.

Module 5: Maritime Safety, Security, and Risk Management: Maritime safety protocols and emergency response procedures, Security management under the ISPS Code, Risk assessment for cargo and vessel operations, Accident prevention and incident investigation, Crew and personnel safety in logistics operations, Insurance and liability coverage in maritime logistics.

Module 6: Sustainability and Strategic Logistics Management: Green shipping practices and fuel efficiency strategies, Carbon footprint reduction and waste management in logistics, Cost optimization in maritime logistics operations, Supply chain visibility and performance measurement (KPIs), Strategic decision-making and scenario planning, Capstone project: develop a complete maritime logistics plan for an international shipping route including cargo flow, compliance, and risk mitigation.
