Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/C/CMT/V1

Eligibility: 10th (High School) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The objective of the Certified Masonry Technician course is to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on skills in masonry construction. The course covers the preparation and laying of bricks, concrete blocks, and stones, mixing and applying mortar, reading construction drawings, surface finishing, and basic safety practices. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Masonry: Types of masonry materials (brick, block, stone, mortar), Basic properties and uses of materials, Common masonry tools and equipment, Safety practices and personal protective equipment (PPE), Reading simple masonry drawings, Understanding construction terminology.

Module 2: Masonry Preparation and Layout: Site preparation and setting out, Mixing mortar and grout, Measuring and marking, Basic bonding patterns, Using levels and plumb lines, Handling and storing materials.

Module 3: Masonry Construction Techniques: Laying bricks and blocks, Building walls and partitions, Installing reinforcement in masonry, Constructing corners and openings, Joint finishing and tooling, Basic waterproofing methods.

Module 4: Mortar and Grout Application: Types of mortar and grout, Mixing techniques and consistency, Application methods, Curing and drying processes, Repairing mortar joints, Quality control for mortar work.

Module 5: Safety and Site Practices: Jobsite safety rules, Proper use of PPE, Scaffold and ladder safety, Hazard identification and risk management, Emergency procedures, Environmental considerations.

Module 6: Maintenance and Repair: Identifying common masonry defects, Basic repair techniques, Cleaning and sealing masonry surfaces, Repointing mortar joints, Preservation of masonry structures, Documentation of repair work.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
