The main objective is to equip participants with the skills required to perform, monitor, and optimize mercerization treatment for enhanced textile quality and performance.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Mercerization Process: Definition and history of mercerization, Objectives and significance of mercerization in textiles, Types of fabrics suitable for mercerization, Physical and chemical changes during mercerization, Comparison between mercerized and non-mercerized cotton, Role of alkali in the mercerization process.

Module 2: Machinery and Equipment Used in Mercerization: Types of mercerizing machines (chain, pad-chain, roller), Key components and their functions, Tension control systems and stretch units, Alkali preparation and recovery systems, Automation and control features in modern machines, Maintenance and cleaning of equipment.

Module 3: Mercerization Process Parameters and Control: Optimal concentration of caustic soda, Temperature and dwell time settings, Fabric tension and stretch ratio, Washing and neutralization after mercerization, Factors affecting luster, strength, and dye uptake, Process troubleshooting and parameter adjustments.

Module 4: Quality Aspects and Testing of Mercerized Fabrics: Properties of well-mercerized fabric (luster, dyeability, strength), Standard tests for mercerized cotton (BS, ISO, AATCC), Common defects and their root causes, Inspection techniques for process consistency, Record keeping and quality reports, Compliance with industry standards.

Module 5: Safety, Waste Management, and Environmental Compliance: Handling and storage of caustic soda, Safety equipment and emergency response procedures, Alkali recovery and reuse systems, Effluent treatment and environmental impact, Workplace safety protocols and PPE usage, Regulatory compliance and sustainability initiatives.

Module 6: Practical Applications and Industry Readiness: Step-by-step demonstration of mercerization process, Real-time machine operation and adjustments, Case studies from industry practices, Interaction with industry experts or plant visits, Documentation and SOP preparation, Career scope and job responsibilities of a mercerization expert.
