Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Motion Capture Artist course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to capture, refine, and integrate realistic human or creature movements for digital media, including games, films, and animation. The course covers motion capture (mocap) technology, performance capture techniques, rigging, retargeting animations, 3D software integration, data cleanup, and workflow optimization.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Motion Capture: Introduction to motion capture (mocap), History and evolution of mocap technology, Principles of human movement and anatomy, Types of motion capture systems (optical, inertial, markerless), Role of a motion capture artist, Case studies in film, games, and animation

Module 2: Motion Capture Equipment and Software: Overview of mocap hardware (cameras, sensors, suits), Software for motion capture processing (Motive, Vicon, iPi), Calibration of mocap systems, Troubleshooting equipment and software, Data acquisition techniques, Safety and best practices

Module 3: Character Animation and Rigging Basics: Understanding skeletal rigs, Retargeting motion capture data to 3D characters, Bone hierarchy and joint mapping, Constraints and controllers for animation, Integration with 3D animation software (Maya, Blender), Preparing characters for mocap-driven animation

Module 4: Recording and Performance Capture: Planning mocap sessions, Directing performers for mocap, Capturing facial and body performance, Synchronizing multiple actors, Real-time monitoring and feedback, Recording environmental interactions and props

Module 5: Data Cleaning and Post-Processing: Editing and refining mocap data, Removing noise and errors, Retargeting motions to multiple characters, Looping and blending animations, Exporting data for game engines and animation pipelines, Quality control and performance optimization

Module 6: Portfolio Development and Industry Practices: Creating a professional motion capture portfolio, Showcasing mocap data and animated characters, Collaboration with animators and game developers, Industry-standard workflows and pipelines, Staying updated with emerging mocap technologies, Continuous skill enhancement and professional growth

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
