Module 1: Introduction to Music Therapy and Its Scope: Definition and principles of music therapy, History and evolution of music as a healing tool, Difference between music therapy and recreational music use, Roles and responsibilities of a music therapy practitioner, Overview of client populations and settings, Ethical standards and professional boundaries in practice.

Module 2: Foundations of Music and Human Psychology: Basic elements of music: rhythm, melody, harmony, and dynamics, Psychological and emotional impact of music on the brain, Music perception, memory, and cognition, Introduction to music preferences and cultural sensitivity, Music and mood regulation in therapeutic contexts, Effects of live vs recorded music on clients.

Module 3: Music Therapy Techniques and Interventions: Active techniques: singing, drumming, instrument playing, Receptive techniques: listening, lyric analysis, music imagery, Movement-based and relaxation-based music interventions, Structured improvisation and songwriting basics, Use of rhythm and tempo for behavioral support, Adapting sessions for age, ability, and clinical goals.

Module 4: Client Assessment and Goal Setting: Intake procedures and client history collection, Observing musical responses and participation levels, Designing session plans based on individual needs, Setting therapeutic goals: emotional, physical, cognitive, and social, Monitoring progress and adjusting interventions, Basic documentation and session recording methods.

Module 5: Applications in Healthcare, Education and Wellness: Music therapy in mental health and emotional well-being, Working with children with developmental disorders (e.g., autism), Geriatric music therapy for memory, dementia and social interaction, Pain management, palliative care, and hospital-based therapy, Music therapy in stress reduction and wellness programs, Collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams.
